Plyometric workout

Update and pictures from Albuquerque - Part 2
31st January 2005

Hi Everyone,

Weights

Life in Albuquerque is pretty good. The weather has been a bit up and down lately with rain and snow passing through the state but luckily it all passes pretty quickly and the sun is soon out again. Although there are quite a few people in town at the moment, I haven't really ran across many of them in the last week. The trail system here is pretty extensive so it is easy to be out there along with many others but your paths may not even cross, but I am sure I will bump into the Dutch guys again soon. You never really feel you are by yourself on the trails here as there are always the hyenas and local dog walkers to keep you company.

While things have been quiet here there has been a lot of athletics action going on all over the world. In the UK Kelly Holmes had her first race of the year. Although I didn't see the race it sounds like she had a really comfortable win so it will be good for her to get the first race back under her belt. There was also a sell out crowd in Glasgow, so I imagine the reception that she received was pretty special. There were also the regional XC champs in the UK, with my club Bedford and County taking team titles in the Southern Champs in the U13 girls and Senior men's events - as well as the Senior men's individual title going to Huw Lobb.

I have also had a lot of new visitors to the site from the US and other parts of the world. I really appreciate people taking the time to leave a message in the guestbook - so thanks!

P.S. I was shocked to hear that Zara Hyde Peters from UK Athletics had an accident in Cardiff last week which resulted in her breaking two bones in her leg. Having spoken to her I know that she is having a pretty frustrating time but that she is on the road to recovery - so hopefully it won't be too long until she is running again.

Speak to you soon.
