On a humid day in New Orleans, Paula Radcliffe had to settle for second place behind the Olympic 5000m silver-medallist,
Isabella Ochichi. Breaking away in the early stages, Kenya's Ochichi led the race for most of the way and crossed the
line in 30:27, the second-fastest time ever recorded at the distance (behind Paula's 30:21 world record).
Paula held on for second place with a time of 30:45 - the same time she clocked in finishing second at the Worlds Best
10km race in Puerto Rico last year.
"I'm not happy because I never like being beaten, but it's not a disaster," said Paula, who finished 23 seconds ahead
of third-placed Sally Barsosio. "My focus has obviously been on preparing for London and not surprisingly my legs felt a
little heavy." The first three women past the line all dipped under the previous course record.

Paula Radcliffe will run a warm-up race in New Orleans on March 26th before contesting next month's Flora
London Marathon. Radcliffe has chosen the high profile Crescent City Classic 10 kilometres event, which she
last contested eight years ago. The American race will give the world marathon record-holder the opportunity
to stretch her legs before bidding to regain her London title on April 17.
